We have received an invaluable donation of semi-composted horse manure form Tiny Acre Ranch (TAR). Trevor and I borrowed our pastor's truck and hauled a level pickup load of manure. It was in a compost pile and mostly smelled soil-like. But for the most part maintained it's horse-hockey form. We just unloaded it into a new pile beside the woodchip pile. I was able to mix two wheelbarrow loads into the 'big pile', which as it turns out was heating up nicely. For the next work day, if we can mix a full wheelbarrow load into each of the compost piles, that should heat them up. TAR has two standard horses and one miniature. This combination makes about 100lb of manure per day. They collect it and put it into a well constructed compost pile. We can haul it off anytime we want. Now for the reallly good news. Having delivered the hot steaming pile, I will be in Corpus Christi next weekend ushering for my niece's wedding. Have fun amending the piles. Raymond

I added a couple of layers of manure and partially broken down stuff from the big pile today- and put some of those huge sticks in bags near the trash cans (MsChif helped!)
